Articles and book chapters exist in a variety of journals and monographs will lead you to statistics between 1500 and 1800 for your specific country.  You will need to search for these materials through databases such as Historical Abstracts (below), Consort and Ohiolink.  Here is a short list of useful articles and books:

When searching for these articles in Historical Abstracts use keyword terms to locate materials.  For example: population and statistics and Itaiy and renaissance.

If you are still experiencing problem locating population statistics you may find books related to your country by performing a subject search and locating these books from Consort or Ohiolink libraries.  For example:

Great Britain -- population -- history
Germany -- population -- history
Russia -- population -- history
Urbanization -- Europe -- History -- 16th century (substitute the date of another century if you focus on a later period)
