Search Strategies

To search for a map of your specific city try usings one or more of the following subject headings in either Consort or Ohiolink (type in the name of your country where the underscore line appears):

for example: Cities and towns -- ________

in Consort you will have limited options Cities and towns -- france
in Ohiolink you have many more books listed (perhaps too many) Cities and towns -- france
narrow your topic in Ohiolink further by adding the word 'maps' Cities and towns -- france -- maps

Also try:

name of specific city/town followed by the country name in parentheses

for example: Brussels (Belgium)

Or for information on population search :

Human geography -- Croatia -- Dalmatia
Europe -- population

Consort search results included a map of contemporary Brussels (not appropriate for this project) Brussels (Belgium)
the Ohiolink search included 251 search results Brussels (Belgium)

Entries in both Consort and Ohiolink will include histories of the city (always an excellent source for maps), specific books of maps of the city, lists of buildings, books of aerial views, guidebooks, materials on social life and customs, religious life, etc.
