Sep 6, 2010

Date: September 6, 2010

AGENDA:

1) TTT evaluation reminder
2) Progress Report on the Anti-Racism workshop (Sarah)
3) Action Plan for the semester (based on Ivonne's minutes from last meeting below)
4) Meeting Times and leader discussant (Clara)  (perhaps each member can take care of convening one meeting and leading the discussion to make it really democratic and collective).
5) Transnational Academic Initiative (a suggestion from Nayef) (Marta)

MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING
The group considered the following proposals and determined that decisions would be reached at the first meeting.

1) Writing a joint proposal for a Teaching Initiative Grant to develop projects for collaborative teaching that explore intersectionality, as well as offer a panel discussion on teaching that would be open to the Kenyon community, and a possible symposium in fall 2011 of faculty-student collaborations.

2) Developing a long-term action plan for the Transnational Collective.

3) Re-circulating and revising the TNC's mission statement and consider articulating intersectionality as one of its missions.

4) Changing the name of the Anti-Racism Workshop so that it addresses other issues, such as gender.

5) Inviting Crenshaw back in 2011? Possibly in collaboration with the Diversity Advisory Council?

6) Creating a website for the TNC and encouraging more collaborations with other interdisciplinary groups.
