Finding Books

Library catalogs will tell you if a library owns or has access to a specific item. That item may be a book, a video, a journal title, map, etc... You may find a specific item by searching for the title or the autho/director.

Finding Journals

Library catalogs can tell you if the library subscribes to a journal. To search for a journal, you will need the journal title. The catalog will tell you if it is available, and the volumes/issues or dates available.

You cannot use library catalogs to search for journal articles or authors.

Journals are each assigned an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number). An ISSN can make it easier to determine if you have the correct journal since many journals have similar names.
