ANTH 112.02: Introduction to Archaeology: Home

Getting Started

General Library Research Guidelines

Use our reference sources to find background information on a topic or a specific culture. Reference resources are also handing for finding more research materials. Many reference sources include bibliographies so you can then search for a specific book or author.

To find books, use our library catalogs. The CONSORT catalog searches the libraries at Kenyon, Denison University, Ohio Wesleyan University, and the College of Wooster. OhioLINK catalog searches the libraries at most academic colleges and universities in Ohio. If you are searching for a book, not available via CONSORT or OhioLINK, you may make an Interlibrary Loan request.

To find articles, use our library databases. Many databases will provide a link to a PDF or HTML copy of the article. Sometimes you may need to take the extra step to see if Kenyon's library subscribes to a journal.

To see if Kenyon subscribes to a specific journal, you may choose our "Search by Journal" option in the pull-down menu on lbis.kenyon.edu. You may also search CONSORT. If we don't subscribe to a journal, you may check to see if an OhioLINK library will send you the specific volume that you need. If OhioLINK is not an option, you may make an Interlibrary Loan request.

If you ever need help, come to the Research and Reference Desk, located on the 2nd floor of Olin Library, near the entrance. Or you may make an appointment with a librarian.
